To switch things up and keep my skills fresh, I created the image below in vector. I still have some light effects I plan to add as soon as I get some more free time.

Here was my initial color/light mockup in photoshop.

Vector art takes me forever. How long did the Moose Troop take you? Are you using Adobe?

Hey Jenny!

It's so good to hear from you.

I roughed it out in photoshop to get the colors right, then traced it clean in Illustrator.

The character design and composition sketch took me about 4 hours. Roughing it out in photoshop and playing with the colors took me about 4 hours. Cleaning it up in Illustrator took me about 10 hours because I'm a little rusty.

There are still some light effects I'd like to do that I haven't put on there yet due to time constraints. Actually, here, I'll post up the photoshop rough as well to give you an idea.

Tell me what you think!

Growing up, I was inspired by the Sunday Comics. As a child, I remember cutting Calvin and Hobbes strips out of the newspaper and putting them into a photo album!

Pixar films inspired me to make the move from the Midwest to California. for the last 10 years I have studied and worked professionally out of San Francisco.
